Primary EMS Instructor

Course Synopsis:This course is the final 16 hours of educational requirement for endorsement as a Primary EMS Instructor by the Southern Nevada Health District EMS and Trauma System Office for EMS personnel in Southern Nevada.

Course Objectives: Prepare instructors for EMS education management: Curriculum and course development, administration, assessment and evaluation, classroom and clinical teaching.

Audience: Public health professionals with an aptitude for teaching others.

Prerequisites: Must maintain Secondary EMS Instructor status for at a minimum of one year. See the Southern Nevada Health District’s EMS Regulations and Procedures at www.southernnevadahealthdistrict.org (emergency medical services link).

Required Equipment: Note taking equipment

Certification: Primary EMS Instructor Certification with SNHD

Course Length: 2 Days

Tuition Cost: $400

Minimum capacity seating: 6 Course Participants

Maximum capacity seating: 24 Course Participants
