Product Description

Course Synopsis: Adheres to the US Dept of Transportation EMT-Intermediate National Standard Curriculum, the AEMT training course is approximately 150 hours in length, including both classroom and hands-on training. Recommended 12-24 clinical hours of in-hospital emergency room or ambulance ride time.

 

Course Objectives: Describe the essential elements for the safe and efficient response to the scene of a medical emergency; perform a thorough patient assessment for signs and symptoms of illness/injury; provide prompt and efficient basic emergency care to the sick and injured; safely handle/prepare the patient for transportation; demonstrate proper intravenous cannulation; demonstrate knowledge of pharmacology and proper administration of medications; demonstrate airway management techniques; describe the essential elements of safe and orderly transportation of the patient to the hospital, and the transfer of the patient care to the hospital staff. 

Eligibility Requirements: Possess a current EMT-Basic certification card, be 18 Years old; be physically capable of performing the essential duties of and EMT-Basic; be proficient in reading/writing English; hold a current Health Care Provider CPR card.

 

Required Equipment:     Current Textbook Materials, Stethoscope, Blood Pressure cuff 

Certification:                At the successful completion of the course, individuals may be eligible for National Registry Advanced EMT examination.
