emergent medical technologies - emt training

Course Objectives:  Constructed by the American Heart Association (AHA), this course is designed to aid the pediatric healthcare provider in developing the knowledge and skills necessary to efficiently and effectively manage critically ill infants and children, resulting in improved outcomes. 

Audience: Established for persons who have previously attended the AHA PALS program and require a refresher program.  Candidates must possess a current PALS card. This course is for pediatricians, emergency physicians, family physicians, physician assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners, paramedics, EMT’s, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare providers who initiate and direct advanced life support in pediatric emergencies.

Prerequisites:                         Must have previously completed an AHA PALS course and have current PALS and BLS course completion cards. 

Required Equipment:               Current Textbook Materials

Certification:                          PALS Provider Course Completion Card valid for 2 years 

Course Length:                       8 Hours (One day)

Minimum capacity seating:       6 Course Participants

Maximum capacity seating:      24 Course Participants
